What is the difference between pods and coils?
Both are wear parts, but depending on the device you replace either the whole pod or just the head. Keep this in mind when choosing.
What is a coil?
A coil, also called an atomiser head, is a heating element with cotton. The cotton soaks up e-liquid and the heating element turns it into vapour. Many modern coils have a mesh structure, i.e. a heating grid instead of a wire. Examples are the Vaporesso GTX and GTi Mesh Heads or the GeekVape Z Series Heads.
What is a replacement pod?
A replacement pod is the tank of your pod system. Some pods have a built-in coil and are replaced as a whole, for example the ECO Nano Pod, Smok Novo Pod or Elfbar Elfa Pod. With others you only change the head. You will find the matching devices under Pod Systems.
When should you change your coil?
How long a coil lasts depends on how much you vape, which e-liquid you use and at what power you vape. There is no fixed interval.
How can you tell that a coil is worn out?
Typical signs are a weaker or burnt taste. Less vapour or a gurgling noise can also indicate it. Sweet liquids often gum up coils faster. It is important that the resistance (ohms) and the format match your device. If the coil says 0.8 ohms, it is usually intended for mouth-to-lung draws. Lower values are rather made for direct-to-lung vaping.
Which pods and coils do we stock?
From Vaporesso, these include the XROS COREX 3.0 pods as well as the LUXE X, LUXE XR and LUXE Q Mesh pods. From GeekVape there is the Q Cartridge, plus the Uwell Typhos Pod and the JustFog GLENT Pod. Replacement glass tanks for atomisers can be found under Accessories, suitable e-liquids under 10 ml e-liquid.
